Project · Crystal Beach, TX

A beachfront home rebuilt after Hurricane Beryl

Taken back to the studs and put back together — kitchen, baths, flooring and finishes, all under one contract.

The Project

When repairs aren't the answer

Hurricane Beryl came ashore on the Texas coast in July 2024, and Bolivar Peninsula took the brunt of it. This beachfront home in Crystal Beach was past the point where patching would have done any good. It needed to come apart and go back together.

Building Edge Construction handled the full gut and rebuild. Everything inside came out. What went back in was a new kitchen, rebuilt bathrooms top to bottom, new flooring throughout, and shiplap walls and ceilings — with materials chosen to live with salt air and Gulf humidity rather than fight them.

Owner John Baudry ran the project start to finish. That is the part most homeowners underestimate after a storm: mitigation and reconstruction are two different jobs, and handing off between two companies is where rebuilds stall out. Here it was one team the whole way.

Why It Matters

Mitigation and rebuild, one company

01

No handoff gap

Most restoration companies dry a property out and hand it off. We carry a job from emergency response through finished reconstruction.

02

Insurance fluency

Storm rebuilds usually run through a carrier. We document damage properly so the approved scope reflects what the property actually needs.

03

Built for the coast

Salt air and Gulf humidity are hard on materials. Coastal work needs choices that hold up, not just finishes that photograph well.
